Reinventing the Penguin Sci-Fi Classics series with traditional printmaking techniques and bright colours which defy genre convention without sacrificing visual impact.
The series is printed on heavy textured paper for a high quality, tactile finish. The printed areas are debossed for added dimension. All elements were hand printed using letterpress and lino.
Hand-pressed lino prints which feature on the back covers depict plants that are symbolic of specific characters or themes in each novel. They have connotations with both growth and decay, themes present in all novels.
